FAQ's

As a dog owner myself, I understand you may have some questions or concerns regarding your dog and the service we provide! The following page answers some of the most common questions you may have -

Why use a home boarding service?
Your dog stays in a family home with lots of loving care and attention where his/her usual routine can be adhered to. After your first stay we aim to place your dog in the same home for any future bookings so that you can feel relaxed about leaving your dog in our care.

Will I meet the family?
We would not accept a booking until you have first completed a visit to the carer's home along with your dog. This is to ensure that you are comfortable with the dogs surroundings and can further discuss your requirements with the carers.

What if my dog becomes ill?
If your own vet is local to the carer then your dog will be taken to see them, in any other situation all carers are registered with their local vet and will seek veterinary attention if they deem it necessary. However we will ask for reimbursement of any fees on your return.

What if my dog is on medication?
As long as you have made Pet Carers aware of your dog's medication prior to your visit then we will place you with a carer who is familiar with the ailment concerned.

How will my dog be exercised?
On visiting the carer you will discuss the exact exercise routine for your dog, in normal circumstances we would use a flexi lead but if you would like your dog exercised off the lead we will need written permission to do so on the registration form. Common sense will be applied as to whether the carer allows your dog off the lead depending on how settled the dog becomes and how he responds to the carer. We will never let a dog off the lead unless the proper permission is given to do so, all dogs will wear one of our ID tags whilst in our care.

What do I need to provide?
Generally your dog will be happier with their own bed, lead, toys and anything else you feel they may want! We ask that in order for your dog to continue their usual diet that you provide enough food to cover the length of the stay.

What vaccinations does my dog need?
Your dog will need the usual vaccinations/boosters to be up to date but we do not require the usual kennel cough vaccination. All dogs will also need to be up to date with worm & flea treatments. Please provide your dogs vaccination certificates to the carer on dropping off your dog.
